What does a consultation entail?

During a consultation you will be asked a series of questions, including identifying what issues you wish to address in therapy, if you have been in therapy previously and if so, how long ago and what led to your previous treatment ending. You will be given an opportunity to also ask whatever questions you have in order to feel comfortable with scheduling your first appointment. You will also be educated on what therapy forms will be utilized, how therapy sessions will be conducted throughout the duration of your treatment and how billing will be conducted. What is your availability?

I am available for convenient week day  evening hours and Saturday morning hours. To ask for additional information, click here.

How long does each session take?

Initial intake sessions are 60 minutes. Every follow-up session thereafter will be approximately 45 minutes but could be longer depending on your particular need and our progress during the session. These times & rates are listed on the Fees Page. For additional questions, click here.

Is what we discuss in sessions confidential?

Confidentiality is a paramount in therapy, not only is it listed in the Social Work code of ethics, it is also a requirement to follow HIPAA protocol. However, when in therapy it is also an obligation of your provider to report to the proper authorities when you are a danger to yourself or others. As an LCSW, I am also a court mandated reporter which requires me to report any reported child or elder abuse/neglect. For additional questions, click here.

Do you accept Medicaid Insurance?

No, I do not accept any Medicaid or community plans. Please refer to our Fees Page for our cost per session. For additional questions, click here.

How much will therapy cost me?

How old do I have to be, to become a client?
